ARGENTIUM ® SILVER

All ODIS jewelry is made in Argentium Silver, a modern and enhanced version of traditional Sterling silver. It was developed specifically to combat the tarnish that occurs as silver oxidizes when it comes into contact with air, a significant drawback for all who love silver. But that’s not the only reason; Argentium also boasts a whole range of other properties besides this, which help make it an exceedingly clever alloy for those who choose to embrace it.
Purer
Argentium silver is always purer than traditional Sterling silver having more pure silver content.
Traditional silver is stamped “925,” meaning is 92.5% pure silver, with other metals mixed in. In contrast, Argentium silver is 93.2% to 96% pure silver. As we know, the more pure jewelry is, the more desirable and valuable it is.
Brighter & Whiter
Argentium Silver is brighter and whiter than platinum, palladium, white gold and traditional Sterling Silver. Argentium does not require plating and is the natural color of pure silver through and through.
Stronger
Argentium Silver is stronger and more durable than traditional Sterling silver, making it more resistant to scratches, dents and deformation.
Hypoallergenic
Hypoallergenic properties mean that Argentium Silver is suitable for those unable to wear traditional Sterling silver. Argentium Silver is 100% nickel-free.
Highly Tarnish Resistant
Unlike traditional Sterling silver, which tends to tarnish easily, Argentium Silver is highly tarnish-resistant. Testing has demonstrated that Argentium is about seven times harder than Sterling silver. What this translates into are lower maintenance and more shine and luster.
